Hybrid PHEV Vehicles reduce environmental impact
May 18th, 2021
Maintaining and fuelling a fleet of company vehicles that travel over one million kilometres a year will have a significant environmental impact on our planet.
Audere Medical Services Limited employ a team of 25 engineers and technicians operating the length and breadth of the UK, servicing and validating decontamination equipment in hospitals, universities and other establishments. The majority of the cars in their fleet are estate models suitable for carrying spares, replacement parts and the necessary tools and equipment to work in the field.
By selecting the same model of car, but powered by Hybrid Technology, Audere Medical Services Limited will cut their CO2 emissions by 49 tonnes over the next year, a reduction of 32%. The Hybrid Technology will also reduce their fuel consumption by just over 20000 litres a year providing significant environmental benefits.
Explaining what was a straight forward business decision, Gareth Jones said, “Like many companies we are aware of our corporate social responsibility, we will consciously do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint, but we also need to remain profitable. We met with the fleet manager at Volvo and were very pleased to learn that we would be able to reduce our CO2 emissions without having to change our preferred model from their range of vehicles. The decision was straight forward from both an environmental and business perspective.”
